Deployment Client/Server
You have developed a 4D Application and want do deploy it as a client/server application. Choose between 4D Server Standard Edition and 4D Server Runtime.
Both servers are shipped with two 4D Client connections. To add client connections, you can buy Expansion Packs for 1, 5 or 10 connections. 4D Client software can be installed on both Mac and Windows and on an unlimited number of machines. The number of machines allowed to simultaneously connect to the Server is limited only by the number of client connection licenses installed on the 4D Server.
4D Server Standard Edition is the right choice if you want to deploy an application that has to be executable as a compiled or interpreted application. This feature is ideal for applications that evolve often: the designer can modify at any time the source of the application, add new features, perform tests etc.
4D Server Runtime is the right choice when you distribute (vertical) applications and do not want to provide the user with access to interpreted applications. Interpreted (not compiled) applications can not be executed by the 4D Server Runtime.
