QPix is the raster imaging plug-in of choice of 4D developers doing professional imaging and multimedia work. Since 1997, QPix keeps providing more than features; it provides the quality and dependability which 4D developers need and appreciate in today's competitive business environment.
QPix is powered by QuickTime, Apple's complete technology for digital media on MacOS and Windows, and it is further enhanced by Escape's custom components that integrate seamlessly with the QuickTime architecture.
QPix 3 is compatible with 4D 6.5 through 2003 on MacOS 9.2x/10.2x and Windows 98/Me/2000/XP.
Below is a partial list of QPix 3's amazing features (download the distribution package for complete examples and reusable 4D code):
Import formats
Imports all file formats supported by QuickTime importers, such as JPEG, GIF, TIFF, PICT, PNG, Photoshop, and more.
Additional support for Kodak PhotoCD, Scitex CT and multi-page PDF (Mac OS X) via custom importers developed by Escape.
Image acquisition
Acquire photos from digicams, captures from webcams and camcorders, as well as traditional scanning using a wide range of personal or high-end document scanners with Automatic Document Feeder and Duplex options.
Lossless rotation, flipping and mirroring of JPEG images without opening the file (JPEG transcoding).
Multi-page TIFF generation
Combines a series of source image files or 4D pictures into a multi-page TIFF file, using PackBits, CCITT G3/G4, or none compression.
Multi-page TIFF generation turns scanned pages into electronic documents that can be efficiently stored, distributed and visualized using a QPix area as document viewer.
Metadata
Reads TIFF, Exif, GPS, IPTC, and QuickTime metadata tags.
